System Upgrade for Dentists
We upgraded our benefits administration system and technology solutions in June. This upgrade will allow us to continue to provide best-in-class service including an improved customer experience and enhanced data protection.
To support a smooth transition, portal information and related system features are being introduced in phases. Our primary focus remains on ensuring claims are processed as quickly as possible with the highest level of accuracy as we continue system optimization and phased implementation.
- Claims processing: Delta Dental of Illinois has begun processing claims and issuing payments. Claims that were previously held are now being released in phases, and volume is ramping up every few days. We expect processing volumes to continue increasing as system performance is further optimized.
- Claims payment: Dentists/dental offices who receive payment through direct deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) will receive payment twice a week. (Checks are mailed once a week). Receive your Delta Dental payments quickly, securely, and directly into your bank account twice a week! With direct deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), you'll get paid more frequently without mail delays. Learn more and sign up here. You can also see current EOPs for those claims that have processed and check Delta Dental's National Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) in the "Payments" tab.
- Dentist Portal: The dentist portal is available. Please note, your login experience and your username and password will not change.
- Eligibility Verification: Member IDs did not change. You may use the primary member’s ID or Social Security number (provided the member is comfortable providing their Social Security number) along with name and date of birth to find Delta Dental of Illinois patients to verify eligibility.
- Benefit information: While we continue optimizing the features available in our portal, please verify benefits through the “National Benefit Inquiry” feature, which links to the national Delta Dental system where you can access benefits information for any Delta Dental member company member. Please note: You must select “Yes” or “No” to the question “Is the patient a dependent of the subscriber?” before selecting the Search button or the functionality will not work.
Your experience remains our top priority, and we want to assure you that teams across our organization are actively working to optimize system performance to help ensure a smooth experience for our valued dentist partners.
