In June, we are upgrading our benefits administration system and technology solutions. This upgrade will allow us to continue to provide best-in-class service including an improved customer experience and enhanced data protection.

Update: Member Portal

Your Delta Dental of Illinois member portal is being introduced through a phased approach to support a smooth system transition. The first phase is providing access to the member portal, which is available now. Portal information and related system features are being introduced in phases, and as a result, some features and benefit information in the member portal will be temporarily unavailable as we work to expand functionality. We appreciate your patience and remain committed to keeping you informed with regular updates.


As part of this upgrade:

  • Your online member portal account has a new look, enhanced functionality and better user experience. 
  • Your member connection username and password are the same.  
  • You have a new member ID number. Members have a new ID number beginning with “67,” followed by your 11-digit ID. Example: If your current ID is 08055555555, your new ID will be 6708055555555. You can continue using your previous ID number at the dentist, and to register for the member portal or Delta Dental mobile app. 
  • No new member ID card is required. While the member ID number changed, members will not receive new physical ID cards. You can continue to access, download and print digital ID cards through the member portal at deltadentalil.com or the Delta Dental mobile app, where you can also save an ID card to your digital wallet.

  • When is Delta Dental of Illinois' system upgrade occurring?

    We are currently updating our benefits administration system. Additional communications, resources and assistance are available on this page to help answer any questions you may have. Our team is actively working to make sure this is a seamless experience for you.

  • What is changing?

    Many of our changes are behind the scenes affecting our administrative processes, but you may notice a number of changes including:

    • A new look and enhanced functionality on your online member portal account.
    • New portal URL – make sure to update your bookmarks!
    • You now have a new member ID number. Members have a new ID number beginning with "67," followed by their previous 11-digit ID. Example: If your previous ID is 08055555555, your new ID will be 6708055555555. If your previous ID includes leading zeros, be sure to include them. Your new ID will be 13-digits instead of the previous 11-digits.
    • Changes to the look and format of Explanation of Benefits and other correspondence you receive in the member portal or from Delta Dental of Illinois.
    • During this transition, claims received on or after May 9 will be temporarily held. Please be assured that this will not affect your coverage in any way. Claim processing times may continue to be longer than usual during June as we work through claims received during this transition. We appreciate your patience as we make these improvements.

  • What will not be changing?
    • Customer service phone numbers, emails and addresses. You are still able to reach our customer service team with the same phone number and email you have been using.
    • DeltaDentalIL.com will not change and you are still able to find what you need, search for a provider and access the member portal on our website.
    • While the member ID number is changing, members will not receive new physical ID cards. You can continue using your previous or new ID number that now includes “67” in front when visiting the dentist. You can also still access, download and print digital ID cards through the member portal at deltadentalil.com or the Delta Dental mobile app, where you can also save an ID card to your digital wallet. 
    • Please note: This change will not impact your login experience. Your member connection username and password will stay the same. 
  • Will my data be secure?

    Yes, all security and privacy for your information is always prioritized by Delta Dental of Illinois. This upgrade allows us to continue to provide best-in-class service including an improved customer experience and enhanced data protection. Technology is changing quickly as are our customers’ needs. We continually seek technology tools and solutions that best serve our customers and meet market demands. We are confident this upgrade will do just that.

    Our technology upgrade will continue to offer more features to safeguard your information.

  • Will there be downtime for any systems or the member portal?

    While the member portal is now accessible, to support a smooth system transition, portal information and related system features are being introduced in phases, and as a result, some features and information will be temporarily unavailable. We appreciate your patience and remain committed to keeping you informed with regular updates. In the meantime, members are able to contact customer service or submit a customer service inquiry with any questions. You can also download the Delta Dental Mobile App to access your ID card.

  • How can I get more information?

    You can expect to continue to hear from us with regular updates. You can also visit this webpage at any time for the most up-to-date information on this upgrade.

  • How will this impact claims processing?

    During this transition, claims received on or after May 9 will be temporarily held. Please be assured that this will not affect your coverage in any way. Claim processing times may continue to be longer than usual during June as we work through claims received during this transition. We appreciate your patience as we make these improvements.

  • Where can I access the new member portal?

    The member portal has a new URL, however, the current portal URL will redirect to the new one. You are also able to access the member portal at deltadentalil.com on the homepage. 

  • Where can I access my new member ID number and member ID card?

    Please note, while your member ID is changing, you can continue using your previous member ID number or new ID number that now includes “67” in front when visiting the dentist or to register for the member portal or Delta Dental mobile app. Also, no new member ID card is required and members will not receive new physical ID cards.

    If you need your member ID or ID card, you can continue to access, download and print digital ID cards through the member portal at deltadentalil.com or the Delta Dental mobile app, where you can also save an ID card to your digital wallet. You can also call customer service at 800-323-1743 and use the IVR to receive your member ID number, if you don't have it. 

    When you call the IVR, here’s how it works: 

    • Do you have your member ID?  
      • Yes: press #1 
      • No: press #2 (this will prompt member ID search below) 
    • Would you like to look up your member ID? 
      • Yes: press #1 (select #1 to prompt member ID search below) 
      • No: press #2 or stay on the line 
    • Enter DOB followed by #: 
      • Enter 2 digits for month 
      • Enter 2 digits for day 
      • Enter 4 digits for year 
      • Press # 
      • If correct: press #1 
      • If incorrect: press #2 
    • Enter zip code, followed by #: 
      • Enter 5-digit zip code 
      • Press # 
      • If correct: press #1 
      • If incorrect: press #2 
    • Enter numbers for street address (excluding numbers that represent the street name like 1st street, etc.), followed by #: 
      • Enter numbers for street address 
      • Press # 
      • If correct: press #1 
      • If incorrect: press #2 

    After following these prompts, you will be provided with your member ID number.
