Lora Vitek is the executive director of the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation in 2011. She has over 20 years of experience in fundraising, community relations and development. Lora is also the St. Charles mayor and has been active within the St. Charles community since she moved there in 2012.

  Illinois children received free dental exams on Saturday, September 10, at Malcolm X College in Chicago.

• Local dentist provides training to support Dentist By 1™ program

  Delta Dental of Illinois and its Foundation launched Dentist By 1 to educate parents and caregivers about the importance of taking their children to the dentist by age 1 and encouraging them to schedule a visit. The program also provides training for dental professionals and students to help them feel more comfortable treating young patients.

• Two recipients named for Delta Dental of Illinois Diversity Admissions Scholarship

  Midwestern University, in partnership with Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation, has announced the recipients of a scholarship intended to foster student body diversity and extend opportunities for healthcare students from underrepresented minority groups.

• Delta Dental of Illinois, Foundation and partners give nearly $5 million in 2021

  Delta Dental of Illinois and its 501(c)(3) charitable arm, Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation, joined its partners and employees in giving nearly $5 million to communities throughout Illinois in 2021, as reported in their 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. This giving focuses on improving the oral and overall health of Illinoisans as well as highlights their philanthropic and social impact efforts.

• Employee Spotlight: Gina Dial, making a difference through volunteerism with Naperville Emergency Management Agency

  Employee Spotlight: Senior internal auditor and security coordinator, Gina Dial, a member of both the Field and Search and Rescue (SAR) units for the Naperville Emergency Management Agency, joined the Field Unit in 2018 because she wanted to do something tangible, even if small, to help the first responders and someone having that level of day.

• Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation, Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation Now Accepting 2022 Applications for H2O On the Go

  All elementary, middle and high schools in Illinois are eligible and encouraged to apply for the H2O On the Go grant program. Preference is given to schools that do not already have a water bottle-filling station. Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m., May 6,2022 at deltadentalil.com/h2o-on-the-go.

• Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation awards $750,000 grant to fund interdisciplinary oral health care trial

  Oral health care study aims to prevent non-ventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia. The Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation has awarded a $750,000 grant to fund a two-year, interdisciplinary oral health care trial in partnership with two Illinois hospitals and a neighboring university. The participating partners include the University of Illinois School of Nursing and Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry.

• Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation and Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation Announce New Oral Health Nitrous Oxide Sedation Initiative

  The Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) and Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation announced the creation of the Oral Health Nitrous Oxide Sedation Initiative, a new oral health program aimed at improving the oral health of children in Illinois. Both foundations are contributing $500,000 each in funding for programs designed to enable non-profit organizations to safely administer nitrous oxide to children requiring conscious sedation for oral health service.
