Four-day Local Anesthesia Clinical Training and Certification Course for Illinois Licensed Dental Hygienists
At Delta Dental of Illinois, we’re committed to supporting our Illinois network dentists and their staff. We’re excited to offer sponsorship for a four-day local anesthesia clinical course this November for Illinois-licensed dental hygienists.
This four-day course meets Illinois state requirements, enabling dental hygienists to administer local anesthesia under the general supervision of an Illinois-licensed dentist. In this course, participants will acquire the essential skills and knowledge for safe and effective local anesthesia administration in dental hygiene practice.
This course will be held at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. We will sponsor the course and loan participants the required textbook for six weeks. Participants must return the textbook.
Requirements to take this course:
- Applicants must be Illinois-licensed dental hygienists
- Have current CPR certification
- Carry professional liability insurance
Course dates:
- Saturday and Sunday - November 9 and 10 | 8am-5pm
- Saturday and Sunday - November 16 and 17 | 8am-5pm
Dental hygienists who successfully complete all components of the course will be provided an award of completion. The certificates will be sent electronically upon completion of the course.
Space for this course is limited. Please note that participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements if needed. Upon application, Delta Dental of Illinois will review submissions, and once approved, applicants will receive an email with their course approval and information on how to enroll.
Please note: Participants must consent to both receive and administer injections. Dental hygienists who are in their first trimester of pregnancy or have any medical concerns should consult their primary physician before registering. The course will adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Illinois Dental Practice Act.
