Best-in-Class Benefits
- Paid Holidays
Delta Dental of Illinois observes 11 company holidays and the schedule is published annually. Regular part-time and part-time employees are eligible for a pro-rated share of holiday pay.
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
Eligible employees accrue PTO starting with their first pay date and in accordance with their job classification. Regular full-time employees accrue 4 weeks/20 days in their first through fourth calendar years of service; starting in the fifth calendar year of service 5 weeks/25 days are accrued. Regular part-time and part-time employees accrue at a reduced rate.
- Medical Insurance
Employees may elect HMO (BlueAdvantage HMO), PPO (BluePrint PPO), PPO BCO (Blue Choice Options PPO), or a High Deductible Health Plan with HSA (BlueEdge HSA) through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois.
- Dental Insurance
Employees have three options available at point-of-service: Delta Dental PPOSM, Delta Dental Premier® and out-of-network dentists. Delta Dental of Illinois pays employee and eligible dependent(s) premiums in full.
- Vision Insurance
Vision benefits are offered through DeltaVision®*. Delta Dental of Illinois pays the cost of the employee premium while employees may elect to cover eligible dependents for $7.00/pay period.
- Group Term Life Insurance and AD&D
The Term Life benefit is 2 times your basic annual compensation (up to $300,000 maximum). AD&D is equal to the amount of your base term life. Term Life benefits for spouses is $10,000 and eligible dependent child(ren) is $5,000. Delta Dental of Illinois pays the premiums in full.
- Supplemental Group Term Life Insurance
Employees may apply for additional life insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents at the employee’s expense.
- Short Term Disability Insurance
Short term disability coverage is offered and Delta Dental of Illinois pays employee premiums in full. The elimination period is 15 days of injury or illness with a benefit level of 60 percent of weekly earnings (up to a maximum of $2,000 per week). The maximum length of coverage under short term disability is 90 days.
- Long Term Disability Insurance
Long term disability coverage is offered and Delta Dental of Illinois pays employee premiums in full. The elimination period is 12 weeks of continuous disability. The primary benefit level is 60 percent of covered monthly earnings with a maximum benefit of $8,000 per month.
- Section 125 Plan (Flexible Spending Account)
Employees may set aside pre-tax money into a health and/or dependent care account in order to pay for certain un-reimbursed expenses before taxes.
- Retirement Plan – 401(k) Plan With Company Match
Through The Principal Financial Group® employees can save for retirement by contributing pre-tax to a traditional 401(k) and/or after-tax to a Roth 401(k). Contributions may be made in any percentage, up to maximums allowed by law. The plan includes an employer safe harbor match of 100 percent up to 5 percent contributed.
- Profit Sharing Plan
A discretionary payment may be made into employees’ 401(k) account annually, if approved by the Board of Directors. A 3-year vesting schedule applies.
- Annual Incentive Compensation Plan*
An annual cash bonus may be paid out to eligible employees based on how Delta Dental of Illinois performs on key criteria. The payment is expressed as a percentage of an employee’s annual base earnings or salaries. The target is 5%.
*Associates in a sales and/or an account management role who are eligible to earn commissions are not eligible for the annual incentive compensation plan.
- Tuition Reimbursement
Courses must relate to the employee’s current position or a reasonably attainable job within the company. Eligible courses are those that are taken for credit at accredited colleges, universities, and other institutions. Benefit amounts of 100 percent of out-of-pocket expenses for tuition, books, and supplies up to $2,000 per quarter, trimester, or semester, up to a maximum of $5,250 per year, may be paid to eligible employees.
- Charitable Contribution Matching Program
In order to fulfill our goal of demonstrating good corporate citizenship, Delta Dental of Illinois actively promotes the well-being of their local community by offering a charitable contribution matching program to employees. Employees may receive a match toward their charitable contribution by making a monetary donation to a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)3 status.
- Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
This program is one of the ways Enterprise team members can get involved in our sponsored community and charitable events as well as personal and team-based volunteerism. We encourage everyone to be involved in their communities, lending their time and talents to programs that positively impact the quality of life for Illinois residents. Time away from work for volunteering purposes may occur in either one full eight-hour day or two half days during the calendar year.
- Paid Parental Leave
Delta Dental of Illinois will provide up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave to employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption. Paid parental leave will be paid at 80% of the employee’s base pay rate (not including bonuses, commissions, or any other variable pay) up to a weekly maximum benefit of $2000.

Eligibility (based on the below job classifications) is the first of the month following 30 days of employment for most benefits. The following exceptions apply: eligibility is immediate for paid holidays, PTO, EAP, and the charitable matching program. Entry into the 401(k) plan is the first of the month following date of hire. Tuition reimbursement requires 6 months of service. Paid parental leave follows the same eligibility as FMLA. Some benefit programs under the Plan may require that an employee be actively at work on the date coverage is to begin.
Job Classifications:
- Regular Full-Time Employees are normally scheduled to work 40 or more hours/week and may be eligible for all benefits listed.
- Regular Part-Time Employees are normally scheduled to work 30 or more hours/week, but less than 40 hours and may be eligible for all benefits except tuition reimbursement. Other benefits may be at a higher cost and/or pro-rated amounts.
- Part-Time Employees are normally scheduled to work 20 or more hours/week, but less than 30 hours and are eligible for pro-rated amounts of paid holidays and PTO. May also be eligible for EAP, 401(k), profit sharing, incentive compensation plan and charitable contribution matching program.
- Temporary Employees are normally scheduled to work a temporary assignment.
