How dental benefits improve oral health

According to the 2021 Delta Dental of Illinois Adults Oral Health Survey, four out of five Illinoisans say having dental coverage, which generally covers 100% of preventive care, gives them confidence in their smile, and adults with dental coverage report better overall well-being.

The survey also showed the following results:

  • 93% of Illinoisans reported that having dental benefits allowed them to have good oral health.
  • 92% of adults planned on visiting the dentist in 2021.
  • 90% of Illinoisans reported that having dental coverage gave them peace of mind, provided relief for dental emergencies and allowed them the opportunity to lead a healthy life.
  • 70% of Illinois residents received preventive dental care in the past year to reduce their risk of serious oral health issues.
