Season of Giving: Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation
Posted on November 21, 2013 in In the Community
The holiday season is here and the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation has had a busy year following through on their mission to improve oral health for residents of Illinois.
In the past decade, combined efforts of Delta Dental of Illinois and the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation have provided more than $2 million to programs and organizations that provide oral health education and expand access to oral health care for Illinois residents.
If you're interested in donating to the Foundation, you can do so easily online! 100% of the contributions received are used for oral health programs and services in the community.
If you are a nonprofit organization or have a public health program and are looking for support in the form of the following, you can apply for an in-kind donation.
• Children's oral health kits that include toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and oral healthcare tips for parents and caregivers in English or Spanish.
• Oral health brochures.
• Teeth on the Go for the classroom. This is a curriculum kit that teaches young children the importance of oral health and how to care for their teeth. It can be used in a classroom/childcare setting, in dentist and pediatrician offices and any other setting where an adult is educating children and/or their caregivers on how to take care of their teeth. The program incorporates a variety of visual and audio learning tools and includes instruction on the importance of oral health to a child's overall health, the impact of nutrition on teeth and proper oral hygiene and tooth brushing techniques. Due to the cost of each kit, we will only donate one kit per site.
