Delta Dental of Illinois and its Foundation launched Dentist By 1 to educate parents and caregivers about the importance of taking their children to the dentist by age 1 and encouraging them to schedule a visit. Delta Dental of Illinois and its 501(c)(3) charitable arm, Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation, joined its partners and employees in giving nearly $5 million to communities throughout Illinois in 2021, as reported in their 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. This giving focuses on improving the oral and overall health of Illinoisans as well as highlights their philanthropic and social impact efforts.

Employee Spotlight: Senior internal auditor and security coordinator, Gina Dial, a member of both the Field and Search and Rescue (SAR) units for the Naperville Emergency Management Agency, joined the Field Unit in 2018 because she wanted to do something tangible, even if small, to help the first responders and someone having that level of day.

Oral health care study aims to prevent non-ventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia.
The Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation has awarded a $750,000 grant to fund a two-year, interdisciplinary oral health care trial in partnership with two Illinois hospitals and a neighboring university. The participating partners include the University of Illinois School of Nursing and Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry.

The Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) and Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation announced the creation of the Oral Health Nitrous Oxide Sedation Initiative, a new oral health program aimed at improving the oral health of children in Illinois. Both foundations are contributing $500,000 each in funding for programs designed to enable non-profit organizations to safely administer nitrous oxide to children requiring conscious sedation for oral health service.

Dr. Grinter believes dental clinics like Milestone need to continue to be preserved and supported since dental care can be difficult to find for individuals with any type of needs or disabilities.
Not being able to find dental care for these individuals can cause needless pain and suffering that would keep anyone from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
