Fill Up Before Trick-or-Treating
Before you get your little ghost, goblin or princess ready for the evening, make sure you feed him or her a good dinner! Eating before a night roaming the streets of your neighborhood will help your children keep up their energy, and keep them from over indulging in sweet snacks.
It is also important to explain to your children that they cannot eat all the candy they want, and only 1-2 treats will be doled out in one sitting. The best way to eat treats is in small amount and over a long period of time. This might mean that you may have Halloween candy to fill your Christmas bowls, but that is okay. At least you will be avoiding unnecessary trips to the dentist!
