Why Join the Delta Dental PPOSM Network?

Delta Dental is committed to our 62 million members nationwide. We know the value our networks bring in serving them. When you choose to participate, you join more than 94,000 dentists and 241,000 dental offices who see the value in being part of the Delta Dental PPO network.

Good for you. Good for Your Patients.

Nearly four out of every five practicing dentists in America have joined one or more of Delta Dental’s networks. Why do so many dentists choose to participate? Because participation in Delta Dental networks isn’t just good for your patients – it’s good for your practice.

Why Participate in the Delta Dental PPOSM Network?

At Delta Dental of Illinois, we support our network dentists by encouraging our members to visit them. In fact, network claims payment is consistently over 80 percent for Delta Dental of Illinois’ book of business.

The dental benefits programs we provide to Illinois individuals and employer groups – from Fortune 1000 companies to small businesses – cover more than two million people. This means that there are two million potential patients in Illinois seeking the services of a Delta Dental network dentist!

National Exposure

Delta Dental is the largest and most experienced dental carrier in the nation. Delta Dental member companies serve more than one-third of Americans with dental insurance, providing dental coverage to more than 62 million people in more than 114,000 groups nationwide.

Patient Access

Delta Dental focuses on getting patients into the dentist office on a regular basis – for their benefit and yours. As a not-for-profit dental service organization, part of our mission is to improve the oral health of the communities we serve. That’s why our dental benefits actively encourage patients to seek care.

It’s a fact that people with dental insurance visit the dentist nearly twice as often as those without.1 And, more Americans are seeking their care from in-network dentists. By participating, you’ll make your services available to a wider array of potential patients.

Easy Administration

Delta Dental’s state-of-the-art claims processing system and expert claims reviewers handled more than 90 million claims last year with over 99 percent accuracy. We also have dedicated Professional Relations staff ready to serve you and your office, as well as online and phone features that provide immediate access to eligibility, claims status and more.

With quick, accurate claims processing, technology support and unrivaled service, we help give you more time to do what you do best – care for your patients.

Guaranteed Payment

The national reach you get by participating in Delta Dental’s networks also means you are guaranteed to receive payment for services based on the agreed upon fees, regardless of which Delta Dental member company administers a patient’s dental program.

Value-Added Benefits

As a network dentist, you will receive access to a variety of value-added benefits, including oral health materials, discounts on supplies and services, and state training programs. These training programs include CPR certification, as well as events that may qualify for continuing education (CE) credits. Past events available for CE credits have included special needs dentistry, Dentist By 1 seminars and clinic based training sessions.

Shared Mission

As the first company to specialize in dental benefits, Delta Dental is passionate about oral health and its importance to future generations. Nationwide, Delta Dental member companies make donations to support programs that focus on preventing dental disease, expanding access to care, advancing dental science and understanding connections between oral and overall health.

In Illinois, our Foundation works to improve the oral health of Illinois children and their families through its own educational programs and support of organizations that provide access to care. Together, we’re working to improve the quality of life for the people in our communities.
