A message to dentists
As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic is bringing daily changes, challenges and stresses.
Our first concern is the health, safety and well-being of our employees, as well as that of our community and those we work with and serve. With this in mind, we have shifted to a fully remote work force with all of our employees who can working from home. Additionally, we have suspended all business-related travel and in-person meetings.
Providing a high level of service to our members, groups, brokers and dentists is a top priority. While we may be working differently, rest assured, it will be business as usual in terms of the service we provide you.
We have had a long-standing business continuity plan in place to ensure seamless service for our members, groups, brokers and dentists should we experience an event of this nature. We also have procedures in place to ensure the security of our services. We anticipate minimal disruptions as our teams are well prepared to continue to work with you and provide the same high level of service as always.
Please note that during this time, we are adjusting our customer service hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. We will advise you of any other changes in our service operations.
We value your partnership and understanding.
Please continue to contact us with any questions or needs you may have.
As always, our self-service FaxBack through our automated phone system and Dentist Connection through our website are available any time of the day to access patient and claim information.
Ways we are contributing:
- Teledentistry consultations to plan members. We allow for a limited exam only (D0140) for claims utilizing teledentistry. Any definitive treatment has to be seen in-person as this limited exam is to determine if a patient needs to be seen for emergency purposes only.
- $500,000 ISDA Foundation Grant. Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation is providing a $500,000 grant to support the mission of Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) Foundation which is to improve the oral health of children, families and individuals throughout the state by supporting initiatives that expand access to care and increase dental health education and awareness. Funding will also support equipment and supplies for future Mission of Mercy events.
