Teeth-on-the-Go Book Bag Program

Childhood is the time when good dental habits begin and healthy teeth develop. That's why we're getting an early start on promoting good dental care and you can help.

We want to help give children a beautiful smile that lasts a lifetime. So to help educate children about the importance of their teeth and the value of good oral health, we're offering this fun educational program – Teeth-on-the-Go^SM.

This unique "bookbag program" teaches students in kindergarten through second grade the importance of oral health and how to take care of their teeth.

Teeth-on-the-Go focuses on three main teaching points: The importance of teeth to a child's overall health The impact of nutrition on teeth Proper oral hygiene and toothbrushing techniques. The Teeth-on-the-GoSM kit incorporates a mix of visual and audio learning tools, including an entertaining and educational children's DVD on visiting the dentist, an audio CD on toothbrushing, helpful books, and a three-times bigger than life-size mouth model and toothbrush to demonstrate proper brushing techniques.

Included in the bookbag is a Teacher's Guide that outlines a five-day lesson plan (15-20 minutes per day), along with daily activities. Teachers can follow the suggested plan or adapt the materials according to their classroom needs. Students who successfully complete the program earn "Healthy Smiles" certificates. The program also reaches out to parents, encouraging them to take an active role in their child's oral health by tracking his/her toothbrushing habits for a week. Request the Teeth-on-the-Go kit for your students. Teeth-on-the-Go is available to teachers and dental offices at no cost.
