DELTA DENTAL OF ILLINOIS PRESENTS DELTA DENTAL AWARD
TO TWO SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY DENTAL STUDENTS
LISLE, IL May XX, 2006 - Delta Dental of Illinois announced that dental students Dennis Frederickson and Nick Kravanya have won the 2006 Delta Dental of Illinois Award for outstanding dental record keeping at the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. The awards were given Friday, May 26 at a ceremony at the dental school. As part of the award, each student will receive a $2,500 scholarship from Delta Dental of Illinois.
Frederickson and Kravanya, who graduate this year, were selected in recognition of their outstanding dental record keeping, as evaluated by the dental school faculty. Dennis Frederickson is from Vienna, Illinois, and Nick Kravanya is from Gillespie, Illinois. DO WE KNOW WHERE THEY WILL BE PRACTICING? IN IL??

"Record keeping is an important part of the dental profession, especially as it relates to patient care, and we are pleased to recognize promising future dentists who excel at this critical skill."

"Dennis Frederickson and Nick Kravanya have demonstrated their readiness for this important aspect of dentistry."
Delta Dental of Illinois is committed to improving access to oral health care in Illinois. Ensuring there are quality dentists to offer patient care services in the state is an important part of this commitment. As such, Delta Dental of Illinois has long supported graduating dental students at the two universities in Illinois that have dental schools University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, and two to Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Two years ago, the number of recipients increased to two at each school. This year, the scholarship amount nearly doubled. In 2005, Delta Dental of Illinois announced it was awarding Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine a $250,000 grant to help expand operatory and classroom space.
