Delta Dental of Illinois currently has two job opportunities: Financial Reporting Accountant and Customer Service Representative. OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION: The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for the completion of accurate financial statements both according to Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare various regulatory filings including the annual/quarterly statutory blanks and audit reports.
- Reconcile and prepare monthly investment entries and quarterly statutory investment schedules.
- Responsible for payroll processing, reporting and accounting.
- Prepare financial surveys as required by Delta Dental Plans Association.
- Complete financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with external audits, including workpaper preparation.
- Support the analysis needs of the Finance department.
- Prepare various management reports.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATONS: - BS degree in Accounting with 3 + years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with GAAP and SAP accounting principles as they relate to the insurance industry
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective analysis skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- CPA certification preferred
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION: Customer Services Representatives provide service to our client base through effective oral and written communication, as well as troubleshoot and resolve all types of dental claim related inquiries. This position is based out of our busy call center in Lisle, Illinois DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Accurately respond to all oral and written inquiries from subscribers, providers, brokers and/or group administrators.
- Complete and maintain daily log/forms/reports.
- Initiate follow-up on claim adjustments, corrections and overrides which result from inquiries.
- Accurately complete special projects assigned within specified time frames.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: - Strong customer service skills in a multi-tasking, inbound call center environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of insurance reimbursement practices, i.e. claim processing policies, coordination of benefits and dental terminology.
- Strong computer keyboard skills and demonstrated capability using MS Office tools.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written) strongly preferred.
